Prepare Remote Desktop

On your work desktop, click the start button on the bottom left corner.

Expand Windows System folder

Right-Click on This PC

Click More

Click Properties

Make note of the computer name.

Click Remote Settings

Click the option to Allow Remote Connections to this Computer.

Leave the Network Level Authentication option unchecked.

Confirm that the user is a local administrator.
Modify Power settings so the system never: sleeps, hibernates, or powers off.

On your work-from-home laptop, click the start button on the bottom left corner.

Expand Windows Accessories folder. Click Remote Desktop Connection.

Click Show Options

In the Computer box, enter the computer name you noted earlier.

In the User name box, type leacounty\ and your username.

Leave the “Allow me to save credentials” option unchecked.

Click Save As

Go to the Desktop

Rename The file “Work Computer.rdp” and click save.

The Work Computer icon should now show on your desktop.
